| Whilst we are using the Marine FC name, we are a self-funding ‘arm’ of the Club. The team has formed from initially being part of the Marine in The Community initiative. During the period of early August – end April, sessions take place at Marine FC (above) on Monday evenings 7-8pm. During the ‘Closed Season’ due to agreements between the Club and neighbours, we can’t use the pitch during the evenings and so have an informal ‘game’ on a local school field. The age group is from late 40s – early/mid 70s of mixed ability. Our ‘training’ started and continues to be ‘non-competitive’, as essentially split the number of arrivals into 2 sides, and play for around 60 mins. Some of the players now wish to ‘step-up’ a level and join a local league etc. There is scope for possible further training sessions to be arranged should demand require it. We charge £5 per session to cover the cost of the pitch any ‘profit’ going into our ‘Club funds’. |
