The Benefits of WFA Insurance

All players from affiliated clubs now have Accident and Injury insurance, for peace of mind when playing Walking Football with The WFA. It is included for all players as part if club affiliation.

This insurance will cover players for all matches in the National Cup and all other WFA Tournaments and Leagues and any WFA approved events, plus all training sessions at their club for a full 12 months. 

  • Players will be insured for all WFA events, leagues and tournaments
  • Insured for all WFA Approved Events, Tournaments and Leagues
  • Cover runs from April 1st to March 31st annually
  • Players will be insured for friendly matches
  • Players will be insured for all training sessions
  • Insured players that play for more than one club will be covered playing for both clubs
  • The only insurance that will cover players playing in WFA events*
  • The insurance policy is with Aviva through Sports Insure
  • The cover also extends to playing WFA approved games in Europe.
  • Referees can also benefit from the cover

*12 months cover assumes your club affiliates before March 31st. If the policy is taken out after that date, the policy will run until March 31st of the following year. For example, if you take out the policy in July, your cover will run until March 31st in the following year.

**(Please note: The policy only covers players up to and including 85 years of age)

Making a claim

The claim needs to be made within 45 days of the incident.

If you need to make a claim against the policy, you should download the claim form below. You then complete the form and send it to the email address on the last page.

The insurance company contact us to make sure anyone making a claim is in our database as an insured party. This is a player who has completed the player registration form and is playing for an affiliated club. Contact your club for details of how to register

IMPORTANT: Before you make a claim, please contact kendavies@thewfa.co.uk to get your ID number. You will need to quote this to the insurance company.
