| Garstang FC Walking Football was founded in 2020 following the COVID-19 lockdowns.
The aim was to encourage exercise and socialisation, with the Board enthusiastically getting behind the idea, assisting with the affiliation and insurance requirements needed to get it off the ground. Since then, the club gone from strength to strength, with nearly 100 members over all the age groups. Over the few years we’ve been active, we’ve won many awards and trophies and now also have a very active Women’s Section. The team plays at Garstang Academy and has already played in national cup matches at over 50s, 60s and 65s. But the key factor is fun, as we have players of all abilities and playing brings many health benefits, and Garstang’s oldest players are in their 80s and give many of the over 50s a few footballing lessons. Sessions take place twice weekly at the Garstang Academy HONOURS |
