EXETER STROLLERS WALKING FOOTBALL CLUB

If you would like to exercise and socialise more, Walking Football could be the game for you. It’s a somewhat slower and more gentle form of the great game, which can be played purely for recreation or more competitively in leagues and tournaments. Men over 50 and women over 40 are welcome to play both with us and for us. Exeter Strollers Walking Football Club was formed in 2018 at Wonford Sports Centre. It has gone from strength to strength not just in terms of the number of players (over 90 in total) but in forming close friendships and a strong support group.

The club currently has three teams in the Devon FA Walking Football League. It takes part in Walking Football Association tournaments both local and national – at 50 and over, 60 and over, 65 and over, and 70 and over – as well as friendlies against local and visiting sides. Our female players sometimes play as a team and at other times play in mixed teams and competitions. At present we have five England Walking Football internationals – three men and two women.
Exeter Strollers take part in Walking Football sessions run by Exeter City Community Trust at Wonford Sports Centre on Tuesdays 11:00-12:00 (£5 for the hour). In addition, throughout the year Exeter Strollers WFC runs evening sessions for its members 7-8 pm every Wednesday on the 3G pitch at Wonford Sports Centre, and on Sundays 6-7 pm on the 3G pitch at Exeter City’s Cliff Hill training ground – each £4 for the hour. We also provide morning sessions every Wednesday (11:00-12:00) on Wonford playing field and every Friday (11:00-12:00) on King George V playing field in Countess Wear – each for free. Club membership costs £20 for a year.
