Dorchester Walking Football

Monday evenings are generally attended by around 25 players while Wednesdays are around 18.

The club has been running for around 7 years now and has grown dramatically in that time. We have many varied abilities of players, including some in their 40's that play up to an 82 year old. We have three England Internationals in the club ( 2 at over 50 and 1 at over 70) plus the Ireland International Goalkeeper at Over 65.

We play at the Dorchester Town Football Club ground (the Avenue, DT1 2RY) on Monday and Wednesday evenings (6 - 7.30 on Mondays and 6 - 7 on Wednesdays). The ground is a good 3G pitch so moulded stud boots are essential please! Generally we have around 25 players on a Monday and around 18 on a Wednesday. All sessions are £5 with a free trial session for newcomers. We are running a cashless club so payments are collected via bank payments.

Being men of a certain age, we have had a fair number of players affected by Prostate Cancer. Because of this we started fund raising during 2023 and managed to raise £2,000 during the year and a further £766 at a special tournament we arranged between Christmas and New Year. We are looking to expand on that, and are also working with the Weldmar trust ( a local Hospice) and sharing our funds raised with them.

We also have an active social set, with regular Quiz Nights, Meals out and just get togethers that are always well attended by players and partners alike.
