A sponsorship deal has been agreed between the Walking Football Association and Just Group, which will see England and Italy compete for the Just International Cup in the world’s first Walking Football international matches.
Over 50s and over 60s matches between England and Italy will take place at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium on Sunday, May 13.
WFA chief executive Paul Carr is delighted to welcome such a prestigious company as Just Group to the organisation’s growing band of partners and sponsors. He said: “It is a reflection of the growing importance of Walking Football as a superb way of tackling inactivity in the over 50s market and a huge credit to the work being done by the WFA in promoting the sport.”
Stephen Lowe, group communications director, Just Group, said: ”We’re all familiar with the benefit and enjoyment staying active in later life can bring and that’s why Just is the sponsor of this first ever Walking Football international.
“We’re proud to be able to support the England and Italy teams in inspiring people to keep healthy in later life and support the WFA in bringing this flourishing sport to a wider audience.”
