OVER 60s
ENGLAND 3 V 0 ITALY

These historic and pioneering matches took place yesterday at the magnificent Amex stadium in Brighton.

In the world’s 1st ever Walking Football international, both England teams came out on top against the competitive and skilful Italians.

In the Over 50’s match goals from Neil Evans and Paul Walton won the game. Man- of -the match was the Italian goalkeeper Luigi Martinoli.

A superb hat trick from man-of- the match Peter Stacey saw a comfortable win for the over 60’s despite an Italian missed penalty.

Over 50’s manager Paul Murtagh said ” An amazing experience capped off by 2 fine performances from our teams”

Over 60’s manager Stuart Langworthy said “ What a fantastic and historic weekend. The matches were competitive but played in great spirit. We were all thrilled to be a part of it and to have won”.
We enjoyed extensive media coverage world-wide, and we are now also being followed by FIFA on Twitter!

A wonderful showcase for the sport. Exciting times for Walking Football and the WFA.
Congratulations to all those involved.
