Sporting Trust

The Sporting Trust is a not-for-profit social enterprise that delivers and supports various football based services, programmes and events in the local community. The Trust works in synergy with its partner organisation Sporting 87 Football Club to provide a ‘total football community service’. Trust activities are categorised under four modes of provision: Academy, Community, Schools Support and Holiday Clubs.

Our Walking Football groups [actually walking 'futsal' - indoor 5-a-side] are run by our Community section, who provide recreational sessions with a social emphasis for young children, youths and adults.

The walking futsal group was established in 2015, and now has over 50 regular players in four weekly sessions.

Our groups build community and fellowship through playing fun football. Walking football has democratised our wonderful team sport like no other format of the game. For all ages; ladies and gents; beginners to veterans. Our sessions provide informal and fun matches; slower paced games with no running and no contact. The games are played in the right spirit, with respect and thought for others, so there’s no need for referees (our coaches are there to organise, ensure you have a good time and provide individual assistance).
