Pele's Pearls' over 50's Walking Football team were formed in 2017 just as a bit of fun to keep our aging bones fit. When we reached the area final of the People's Cup we thought we have something here and in 2018, we got through to the People's Cup National final where we lost in the semi final on penalties. In 2019 we completed an unprecedented achievement, in that we not only won the People's Cup but also the WFU National Cup, the WFA National Cup and the IWFF World Cup representing England as our club team. After that, Covid hit.

We train each Tuesday at 7 pm at The Doug Ellis Sports Centre, Aldridge Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham, where everyone is welcome to come and join us.

Our aims are to reach out to and engage with middle-aged men who may feel isolated through varying factors and to promote the physical benefits of our Walking Football activity as well as the mental health benefits of escaping normal confines and engaging with like minded people.
Alongside that, we are always looking to increase our squad numbers, by holding training trials days and to keep going as long as we are able to, ultimately leading to the building of a legacy.
