Dunstable Town FC Walking Football
Dunstable Town FC is a Community Benefit Society. (CBS)
As a CBS club we set up Walking Football at Creasey Park to help and reach out to locals who may have suffered during and after the COVID Pandemic and lock down.
The Walking Football group has been running [no pun intended] for just over a year now and has proven to be very popular.
We run 2 sessions per month and there is no discrimination within the club against ability, age, gender, race or religious belief.
The best way to describe what we do is, meet new friends, have a laugh, keep fit and oh occasionally kick a football.
Our session's take place on external all weather pitches and are as follows
1. Every Friday evening 19:00 to 20:00 we meet at the Club house generally at 18:30 to enable setting up and team selection, this session is for over 18's as it tends to be a bit more competitive than the second sessions below.
2. Every other Wednesday i.e. fortnightly and the times for this session are 11:00 am to 12:00 noon
and the dates for the Wednesday Sessions are always displayed on all forms of the Dunstable Town social media, Facebook, website etc...
Again we meet at the Clubhouse at about 10:30 am to allow for setting up and this session tends to be a bit more relaxed and good fun.
Depending on numbers attending each session we have on occasions run 2 matches side by side especially the Friday evening session, to ensure safety of all our players and the club is insured in case of injuries and Walking Football participants are included in the Club Insurance.
We do not currently charge for sessions as this is covered by DTFC as part of the CBS process.
Although we may ask periodically for donations to replace balls and equipment as and when required.
You will asked to complete a registration form which is used for safety details, point of contact, any medical conditions we need to be aware of etc...
We have a club motto for the Walking Football teams / participants
" DTFC Walking Football ... No stride is too large "
and we aim to adhere to this at every session we hold.
Please feel free to contact Ian if you have any queries.
